Second Stage Round 7: Cluj Napoca - Bosna S. 90-98

There was a minor upset when their close opponent RomanianCluj Napoca (13-9) lost at home to first ranked Bosnian Bosna (10-12) 98-90 on Sunday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Bosna shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for center Miralem Halilovic (205-1991) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Puerto Rican Alfonso Plummer (185-1997, college: Illinois) accounted for 12 points for the winning side. American point guard Daron Russell (180-1998, college: Maryland) came up with 23 points and 7 assists and Serbian center Dusan Miletic (213-1998) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Cluj Napoca in the defeat. Five Bosna and four Cluj Napoca players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bosna maintains first place with 10-12 record which they share with defeated Cluj Napoca . Defending Romanian champion Cluj Napoca still keeps top position with nine games lost.
